臺灣檜木

「臺灣扁柏」與「紅檜」皆是臺灣特有種之柏科扁柏屬樹種，兩者合稱「臺灣檜木」，其木材性質優良，具有耐腐朽、抗蟲蛀等特性，又有特殊香氣，是臺灣一級木中質量最好，最有價值樹種之一。

臺灣扁柏因材色一般偏黃，因而又稱「黃檜」，因樹皮較厚而呈長條狀因有「厚殼仔」之稱。

紅檜材色一般呈紅褐色，樹幹多有分枝且主幹不顯著，樹皮較為平滑，為短薄之片狀，因而有「薄皮仔」之稱。

"Taiwan Hinoki Cypress" and "Formosan Cypress" are both species of cypress trees belonging to the Chamaecyparis genus, endemic to Taiwan. Collectively referred to as "Taiwan Hinoki," their wood is known for its excellent properties, including resistance to decay and pests, as well as its unique fragrance. These qualities make them among the highest-quality and most valuable Grade 1 timber species in Taiwan.
